Congratulating Our 2023 PIE Winners!

Rocky Mountain Credit Union recognizes and values the contribution of staff for their performance, all while exemplifying our mission statement, which is “To provide financial service relationships of lasting value that exceed member and community expectations and reward members for their loyalty.”

The purpose of the PIE program is to award two outstanding employees, one management and one non-management, for excellence in performance (PIE spelled backward). A committee consisting of four management (not including executive management) and four non-management staff members reviews the nominations received throughout the year. And they select the two winners, one manager and one non-manager.

Winners exhibit qualities like confidence, commitment to daily responsibilities, inspiring others, modeling integrity, and upholding the mission of RMCU. Nominees should be centered on teamwork, embracing collaboration and encouraging communication. They should also perform outside the normal scope of assigned responsibilities with follow-through and initiative. Their exceptional member service includes a commitment to giving high-level service to members and staff, offering random acts of kindness, seeking solutions, and sharing a positive attitude. Join us in recognizing this year’s winners for their outstanding performance.

Management Winner: Kelsey Fandry

Kelsey has done a fantastic job of participating in excellence through her hard work and dedication to the operations team, our membership, and her coworkers. Kelsey has been deeply involved in numerous projects and initiatives at the credit union and is now tasked with taking on a deeper role as our new vice president of operations.

Thank you, Kelsey, for being a leader on the RMCU team!

More About Kelsey

Kelsey moved to Montana in 2008 after graduating from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality business management and a minor in business administration. After working in management in the hotel industry for two years, she started at RMCU as a member service representative (MSR). She reflects on that time, saying, “In this role, I discovered my passion for helping people improve their financial lives.”

After three years as an MSR, she worked as the VISA coordinator for two years before becoming a branch manager. “This role allowed me to be involved in more aspects of our members’ financial lives as well as helping train and develop MSRs,” she said. “I was fortunate enough to manage both branches in Helena totaling seven years before I became the assistant vice president of operations. During my 13 years at RMCU I have become BSA Certified and a Certified Financial Counselor. I look forward to helping educate members on budgeting and helping them meet their financial goals.”

Non-Management Winner: Lisa Krei

Lisa has done a wonderful job of participating in excellence through her hard work and dedication to the membership and her teammates at RMCU. This past year, Lisa has taken on multiple challenges, not limited to learning the new real estate lending platforms, new lending programs, dabbling in consumer functions, as well as learning the commercial lending function.

Thank you, Lisa, for being a leader on our team!

Get to Know Lisa

Lisa is a senior loan officer with Rocky Mountain Credit Union. She has been a real estate loan officer with the credit union for a little over three years. Previously, she has worked as a consumer loan officer, collections specialist, and a member service representative with RMCU, too. She has also worked at several other financial institutions over the years including Intrepid Credit Union and First Community Bank.

She graduated from the University of Montana in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in communication. She continues to give back to the community in her off time, saying, “I am currently on the board of Home Builders with Hearts, and I serve on the membership committee for HBIA.”

Originally from San Luis Obispo, California, she has now lived in Montana for over a decade. She and her family currently live in Helena. She has two children, a boy and a girl aged 10 and 8, and her husband Sean is from the Helena area and owns a drywall and painting business there.

Lisa makes the most of her free time outdoors. “I enjoy golfing and was on the Women’s Golf League for Bill Roberts golf course this last summer. My family enjoys the outdoors and the beauty Montana has to offer. We spend our summers on the lake and enjoy as much of the fall as we can out hunting. As a family we also enjoy trips to Mexico or to the beaches of California to visit my family,” she said.

RMCU employees like Lisa and Kelsey are the most important piece of what makes a community credit union so strong. They’re the front line of support for our members, and they help make RMCU great. RMCU wouldn’t be what it is without them. Congratulations to this year’s winners, and we can’t wait to see who is nominated next year!
