In this Lender Spotlight, get to know Liz Roberson, a Consumer Loan Officer in Belgrade.

Just over a year ago, Liz relocated to Montana in search of a new career path. That’s when she found RMCU. Interacting with the community in Belgrade as the Branch Manager and a Consumer Lender, Liz realizes that no two members are the same. Every member she works with is dealing with different life circumstances and financial stressors. Maybe they need a vehicle so they can get to work each day, some cash to pay for a furnace to heat their home in the winter, or they’ve been saving up and working toward buying their dream boat or RV for the Montana summers. 


A Personalized Approach to Lending

She also knows that financial matters are personal and, being the empathetic person that she is, Liz takes a personalized approach to each member she works with. She seeks to meet each member where they’re at. 

When it comes to making large purchases that require loans or large savings, these moments can have a huge impact on people’s lives, and the emotions that come with them can play into the process of applying for a loan. Plus, many people worry that they may not be able to get the approval they need to purchase the thing they’ve had their hearts set on. Liz works to alleviate their stress by making the process as easy for members as possible, adapting her approach to their lifestyles and what works best for them.

“There are many different ways to get to the same point, so I try to find the path of least stress and resistance for each member,” Liz said. This kind of member service is one of the many perks of banking with a local, community-focused credit union.

Liz’s advice to members interested in a consumer loan? “Let’s just talk,” she says. “Get your questions answered so that you can have all of the information before committing to anything.”
