Five Home DIYers That We Can't Stop Watching

When you search “home improvement” on YouTube, you get clips from the 90’s television show featuring one of my favorites, Jonathan Taylor Thomas. But let’s be real, it’s not the 90’s anymore and you still need help with your home DIY projects. To help send you in the right direction, we put together a list of our favorite five YouTubers who specialize in home DIYs for all of your home DIY projects.

Five Home DIYers That We Can't Stop Watching

House Improvements

This guy has literally everything you need to know for home improvements. From DIY drywall, to shed building, to framing doors and windows, and even how to cut tile, this guy is the real deal. The step-by-step instructions are clear and easy to follow (if you have some knowledge of the process). However, if you don’t have a working knowledge of the home improvement process, they have a “How to Use Tools” Playlist.

This Old House

Do you want to know how to add an edge to your garden bed or replace a rotted fence post? This channel is for you. They don’t just focus on the yard, but these are some of our favorite videos. We also enjoy the videos that they have on how to build storage for your walk-in closet and how to paint your kitchen cabinets. There is something on this channel for every part of your home. From your kitchen to your outdoor garden, to how to repair a frozen air conditioner.

Home RenoVision

With 247,000 subscribers, this channel is the real deal! “Kitchen Remodel Secrets to Save You Thousands” is an awesome video for anyone thinking about a kitchen remodel. Not to mention, the video “How to Install Laminate Flooring” is by far the best tutorial on YouTube for the DIY installer. Finally, our favorite from this channel has to be the “Weekend Deck Project” broken down into parts for step-by-step instructions on making the deck of your dreams.

The Handyman

This guy is all business. He has a video for everything you can possibly think of when it comes to improving something in your home. He can teach you how to fix a leaky faucet, install a dishwasher, and then show you how to create an earthquake-proof raised garden bed. This channel has it all. Our favorite video has to be “How to Caulk a Bathtub the Proper Way.” We may be some of the only homeowners out there who don’t understand how to caulk a tub or sink, but honestly, we doubt it.

Build With Matt Risinger

Want to understand what goes on behind the scenes of your favorite HGTV show, or why you have to use certain materials for certain jobs? This is your channel. Matt goes into detail on every home improvement project you could possibly imagine. He even breaks down the difference between copper pipes, PVC and PEX for anyone who wants to know why their plumbing job is so expensive.

With these awesome DIYers in mind, it’s time for you to take your next project head on! Do you have other YouTube channels that you follow? Or do you know of other places we can look for great DIY tips and tricks? Let us know what your favorites are!
